I’m Raymond Chew, and I am thrilled to share my extensive journey and insights as a seasoned trainer and leader in the manufacturing industry. With over 33 years of experience, I have honed my expertise in managing complex operational challenges, pioneering Lean Manufacturing techniques, and driving significant improvements across diverse sectors. A Global Perspective My career has spanned across continents and industries, providing me with a unique perspective on global manufacturing practices. Since 1998, I’ve had the privilege of managing divisions and overseeing P&L and operations across 10 countries, including China, Malaysia, Thailand, India,Indonesia,Hungary the Netherlands, and Switzerland. My experience includes 11 years of permanent residence in China, where I’ve led numerous successful projects. Expertise in Diverse Industries Throughout my career, I have engaged with a wide array of industries—from Electronics and Mobile Phone Assembly to Medical Products and Automotive Parts. My hands-on experience includes managing projects for high-profile companies like Sony, Apple, and Samsung, and setting up new plants across Asia and Europe. Lean Manufacturing and Beyond A significant part of my professional journey has been dedicated to Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. I’ve led initiatives that transformed conventional production systems into efficient, Lean operations, driving cost savings, and fostering best practices across global sites. My approach integrates innovative solutions with practical training to enhance productivity and quality. Leadership and Innovation In my roles as Managing Director and General Manager, I have been responsible for steering teams through new product introductions, site setups, and quality strategies. My leadership has been instrumental in setting up new manufacturing plants, such as those in China and Hungary, and managing operations with up to 5,200 staff members. I am deeply committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Recognition and Achievements My dedication to excellence has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Best Supplier Award in 2023 and accolades for innovative projects and new technology breakthroughs. My achievements in driving record profits and setting up high-tech plants underscore my ability to deliver results even under challenging circumstances. Beyond the Factory Floor When I’m not immersed in operational strategies and Lean transformations, I enjoy badminton, traveling, photography, and golf. These passions not only provide me with relaxation but also inspire creativity and a balanced approach to both work and life.
